About Street Smart Driver Training

Started in 2001 by Teresa Woodgate-Proctor and Denny Proctor, Street Smart Driver Training Inc. has been providing driver education in Northern Michigan for over 25 years. We started this business to fill a need as public schools became unable to maintain funding for their driver education programs.

As a State of Michigan approved and certified driver education business, our goal is to develop new drivers to be smart and safe on our roadways.

Our Instructors

We take personal pride in making sure students feel comfortable with instructors. We hold parent meetings for every session to meet with parents and begin developing a relationship. Our goal is to lower young driver crashes and keep the new driver safe.

We started 25 years ago with just Teresa and Denny providing instruction. We have grown to now employ five people, including a second generation instructor, Dennyʼs son Damon Proctor.
